The Metta Project
Shanti Bhavan is a residential school that provides free K-college education for below poverty line families. Founded by Dr. Abraham George - a philanthropist, veteran of the Indian Armed Forces, graduate of The Stern School of Business, and a survivor of the 9/11 attacks – this non-religious school provides high-quality education with an emphasis on holistic personal development.

I visited the school in December 2016 and spent a day with the kids, teachers, volunteers from the US and Dr. George. The aspirations in the kids, commitment in Dr. George and his teachers, and the excitement felt by the volunteers was palpable. Shanti Bhavan is truly a platform that creates a transformational experience.

The school has set in motion expansion plans. As it is a not for profit entity, fund raising is afoot. My goal is to raise $25K towards their target of $2.5 million.

I am calling this project of mine The Metta Project. Metta is an ancient word meaning friendliness, goodwill, benevolence, and an active interest in others. This then is my prayer for you.

May your dreams be supported and realized.
